When Autumn Deepens

When Autumn Deepens

"True Love is Never Spoken in Past Tense"

This piece is a recreation of a painting that appeared in an early Hong Kong film I love. Even though the picture carries the air of a bygone era, the emotion in it hasn't faded. It shows a young couple in love, wrapped in the warmth of a late autumn sunset.

The woman holds her favorite white rose. They lean into each other quietly, watching the sun slowly sink into the sea, as the sky turns deep orange and the water below glows with its reflection.

From the narrative of the movie, this painting belongs to a young orphan who lost both parents at an early age. She hung it high on her wall as a warm reminder, something to hold onto.

To me, this painting speaks of something deeply human: That warmth, that stillness, that kind of closeness - that's what I tried to capture in this dial.
